While planning a vacation to North Myrtle Beach, most people add places like Barefoot Landing, Main Street and Cherry Grove Pier to their "must-do" list. What you may not know is that there's a local's secret spot that shouldn't be missed: Cherry Grove Point.
As someone who lived in North Myrtle Beach for five years and continues to vacation here every year, I can tell you with a full heart, "The Point" is one of the area's best kept secrets.
In this guide, I'm going to tell you everything you need to know about The Point at Cherry Grove; where it's located, what to expect when visiting, where to find parking plus recommendations for things to do and places to stay nearby.
Cherry Grove Point, sometimes known as The Point at Cherry Grove, is a small, secluded section of beach located at the Northernmost tip of the Cherry Grove Beach area of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Whether you're driving, biking or walking, getting there is really simple. To do so, all you need to do is turn onto Ocean Boulevard in North Myrtle Beach, and head North until it deadends. You'll know you're heading in the right direction if you pass the Cherry Grove Pier on your way there, which will be on your right-hand side.
Space - Personally, I don't necessarily mind crowds at the beach, but there are times when it's nice just to have a little space from other people and have some freedom. Especially during low tide, you can expect the surface area of the beach to be pretty extensive and open.
Peace & Quiet - If you're looking for a quiet, relaxing beach experience, Cherry Grove Point is the place for you. It's a great place to go if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the main beach areas, and just enjoy the sounds of the ocean or go for a peaceful walk.
Panoramic Views - Once you're there, the main thing you'll notice is the views on all 3 sides. Whether you're looking West and checking out Hog Inlet, looking North and taking in the views of Hog Island or East at the Atlantic Ocean - you're surrounded by beauty.
Finding parking near Cherry Grove Point can be difficult, especially during the Summer. Even when it's not peak tourism season, unless you're staying in a nearby hotel or vacation rental, paid parking might be your only available option.
