The beach was wonderful! It was crowded for the holiday. There were several shark sittings and a shark bite but the lifeguards did a wonderful job of keeping the people calm and out of the water until the sharks were gone. It definitely needs more parking. There are little busses from the parking sections that seem to be at least half a mile away but there is no signage as to where the stops are or when they run.

Our family has rented beach houses in Sea Pines from Destination Vacation HHI multiple times over the last 25 years. We’ve found DVHHI very responsive to any maintenance issues that arise during our stays. This year we rented 2 houses for our family. 9 and 11 Royal Tern are 2nd row homes with just a quick walk down to the beach from them. 11Royal Tern is right on the path to the beach. It was a great house. However, 9 Royal Tern is outdated and uninviting. We found its condition not up to DVHHI standards. Location is awesome, but the house disappointed us. We recommend using DVHHI for renting a beach house, just don’t rent 9 Royal Tern.

Over a decade of annual trips to HHI and this was our first time using Detonation Vacation. Great experience! The staff was wonderful throughout the process. The communication was excellent! Everything was so organized! The house was immaculate and was even more beautiful than the pictures. Such a stress free experience…not one single glitch! Thank you for assisting us in having such a beautiful week!

Upon arrival, the pool water was cloudy and green rendering the pool unsafe to swim (picture attached) Pool technician came out on Sunday and was upset about having to work on his day off, said the pool was fine and said that we didn't know anything about South Carolina weather and that it would "clear up." The same pool technician returned on Monday, expressed his disbelief that the pool was still green and apologized profusely for the condition. Said he would make it right and understood how we would be upset with the condition of the pool. Tuesday, the pool was still green and the management company was notified again. A supervisor from the pool company showed up to vacuum and treat the pool again. While vacuuming the pool, it was visibly evident that the pool had not been vacuumed as the vacuum removed debris, sand and algae from the bottom. He told me he didn't have any idea what the other tech was doing since he had to clean and vacuum it. Wednesday, the pool is less cloudy but still green in color and another technician came out. He told me that he was going to increase the motor speed on the pump to move more water thru the filter. He also told me that he had met one of the owners of the house and told them previously that while the pump and filter and been recently replaced, it was too small for a pool of this size. He added more chemicals and said not to use the pool until he returned at around 4 o'clock. The pool was finally clean and safe to swim late Wednesday afternoon, leaving us 2 days to use the pool. Five of our seven-day vacation we were unable to use the pool. In the bathrooms, urine was on the floors around the toilets and trash cans (picture attached) It was evident that the house had not been cleaned due to crumbs on nightstands and hair and grime on the bathroom floors. We purchased cleaning supplies and cleaned each of the bathrooms. The cleaning supply expense was nominal but we spent time away from enjoying our vacation home in order to properly clean the house. The washing machine was in-operable upon arrival. A service technician came out and claimed he was out the previous week to work on the same washing machine. He worked on the machine, said it was fixed and left. Immediately upon use, the washing machine filled up with water and quit working. For the second time, we had to remove our wet clothes and take them to a laundromat. Towels were dropped off Wednesday by the linen service and the delivery person confirmed that he was out the previous week because the washing machine wasn't working the week prior (7/8-7/15). Management company was informed of the issue, informed us their hands were tied because the technician said it was fixed. In total we went to the laundromat 4 different times. The out-of-pocket expense was nominal, but we spent the equivalent of 1 day of a 7-day vacation dealing with laundry issues. The washing machine was not fixed upon check out on Saturday 7/22. While this does not affect us, it demonstrates a pattern of neglect on behalf of the management company and/or the home owner. Numerous doors not functioning. There was a sign on the front door asking it not be used. One of the 2 rear sliding doors to the back patio was inoperable. Patio door to the upstairs deck would not lock. The sub-floor in the kid's bathroom on the lower level is sagging and spongy from a past (maybe current?) water leak. As isolated incidents, these are nominal issues but further demonstrate a pattern of neglect. A $400 refund was issued for our "inconvenience" This was a 2nd row home in Palmetto dunes. It was over $16,000 for the week. This management company has to be the worst on the island. Do not be mislead by the canned response I am sure they will post. These guys are terrible.

We vacationed at Lands End Road 37. Beautiful, modern house with all fixtures and amenities one can ask for. Outrageous views with dolphins most days, beautiful modern kitchen with high quality cookwear, gorgeous bathrooms and fixtures (excellent water pressure for my fellow divas out there), comfortable beds, plenty of towels and blankets, and easy access to internet and all streaming apps. Destination Vacation, the management company, takes the win though. They were communicative and available for anything that came up, from holding packages shipped in advance to helping us (on Christmas day!) navigate the handful of unprecedented winter temps Hilton Head rarely sees. Destination Vacation is a team you want to be in the foxhole with and I look forward to renting with them again, hopefully at this same property.

We vacationed at Flotilla 08. Although, there were a couple minor issues with our stay Destination Vacations was on top of everything. Callie and Gail were always professional, helpful and friendly. Location is amazing and house was very suitable for 14 guests. I have been coming to Hilton Head for 20 years and stayed in all the different areas but Palmetto Dunes and 8 Flotilla is the one for my family.

We vacationed at Turtle Lane Club 402. Destination Vacations has been our choice for 41 years! You are not only pleasant, professional, and extremely helpful, you actually help me with my individual needs in picking out the best unit for our family. 41years ago I called information by dialing 411 and asked for a number in Hilton Head…I eventually was connected with Worthy Rentals (your previous name). After describing our family’s desires, Turtle Lane was suggested…we came, and absolutely loved it. Our family continues to grow and we are now 4 generations enjoying Hilton Head Island. Thank you for your helpful advice over the years and for arranging such beautiful, well equipped, clean and very accommodating units for our family to enjoy. Gail, you have been especially helpful and I am glad I finally met you this year. Our thanks to you and all the staff at Destination Vacations. Sharon Roth and family
